For a while, we did not work on microwaves. We sent the incoming customers to a long time friend of mine, James Ikner at All Katy Service. James has been repairing microwaves for over 35 years! James and I worked out a deal and he is now with Steve Slaton Appliance Repair! We now work on almost any brand or type of microwave oven. If your microwave oven is not heating, making funny sounds, or simply won’t turn on, please give us a call today at 281-948-2491 and James will get to you quickly to fix your microwave. Its almost always more practical to fix a microwave than to repair. Often times the trim kit or installation of a new microwave will add hundreds of dollars to the new microwave cost.
We want to thank all the people who voted for us in the recent Living Magazine “Best of” edition. When I started this company over 11 years ago, it was just me and a red 1997 Ford Ranger pick up truck. Since then I have grown quite a bit. We now have 6 additional appliance repair technicians, 2 wonderful ladies to answer the phones and schedule appointments, and Me, Steve Slaton, trying to hold it all together!
I do my best to instill my values in everyone that works for me. We focus on honesty, integrity, and always doing “The next right thing.” Our goal is to help solve your appliance problems as quick as possible at an affordable price. We look forward to helping repair your washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, refrigerators, and dishwashers for many more years to come. Thanks again for voting us the Best Appliance Repair Company in the Katy/Fulshear Area!
There is a fake Steve Slaton Appliance Repair site online. If someone searches for my appliance repair name on google, they may see an ad for a website that looks like it is my business site. It is NOT! They have bought a similar name, steveslatonSappliancerepair.com.. It has an “S” after slaton. My website is www.steveslatonappliancerepair.com.
These people are simply trying to lure some of our customers to their form or phone number so they can sell the data to whoever wants to buy it. We have had 3 customers that were confused (tricked) and clicked the ad thinking it was my business and wondering why we did not show up. Apparently this fake repair company can’t even get techs out when they get the leads.
I am trying to find a way to stop them. I have been using the name “Steve Slaton Appliance Repair” in the Katy area for over 10 years now. Anyone that knows any good attorneys that could handle some nuisance like this, please let me know.
The main purpose of this is to let my current customers know about it. If you need service, I only have one number. 281-948-2491. If you need to search for us in Google, skip the ads that come up and go to the natural results, or the map. We do not do any paid ads, so on a mobile device you don’t see my site unless you scroll down.
When sharing with friends or online, please give them the website link or phone number. (thanks for all the shares!)
Be careful when searching for anything online. There are many scammers out there that will appear to be something they are not. I always try to go past the ads and see what the real results are. Stay Safe
I have see a lot of filter issues lately. Filters going bad after just a few weeks, filters not fitting, filters causing the filter housing to break and more. Almost all of these customers had bought their filters off of Amazon. Usually at a much better price than a local store. I examined a few of them that appeared to be OEM but found they were not. Then I came across this article. Apparently, there are tons of FAKES coming in from overseas.
If your filter is usually $50 and you see a link for 3 for $60 on Amazon, I can guarantee that they are NOT going to be original filters. I recomend getting the filters from a local store so you know they are actually the right ones and that they will actually filter your water and not damage your fridge.
This time of year we get many calls to calibrate an ovens temperature. In most cases, this is something you can do yourself. We recommend using two of the small round oven thermometers https://amzn.to/33QPXTB. Most ovens have a calibration mode where you can adjust the temp up or down by as much as 35 degrees. Put the oven thermometers in the oven on the middle shelf and turn the oven on to a temp that you like to cook at, usually 350 to 400. Give the oven 30 minutes to an hour for the most accurate results. Check and see what the temps are on the oven thermometers. Hopefully they are the same… If the temp is off by 30 degrees or less, it can be calibrated. If its off more than that, you need service. Your user manual should have instructions on calibration. If you don’t have the user manual, most are available on line at the manufacturers website.
We now have a shop. You can bring your appliance for in shop repair. If you can unload and load it, we can fix it at the shop and save you some money. Over the range microwaves can be kind of costly to repair in the house since they can be time consuming to drop down from the cabinet; however, if you take it down and bring it to us, we can save you some money on repairs. Any appliance we would normally work on in your home can be repaired in our shop. Shop rates are generally a little less than in home rates!
We are located at 27027 Westheimer Parkway Suite 2300, Katy 77494. Hope to see you soon!
